Scarves are among my favorite accessories. During the process of moving, I pared down my admittedly burgeoning scarf collection into these remaining few. They range from souvenirs from far-off travels, gifts from beloved ones and cheap, cheerful thrills. Seeing them in one place, I realize I’m missing a scarf with some pink in it. (My wardrobe has a surprising amount of pink, orchid and magenta.) That’s going on my fall to-buy list. The other missing item is a dove-grey scarf. I had a lovely cashmere one ages ago, but lost it in a bar in Manhattan somewhere, which makes me sad. I hope it’s enveloping someone in angelic calmness and warmth, wherever it may be.

This entry is part of the August Break, organized by the lovely Susannah Conway. A pic a day, words optional. Just life and pictures in the final gasp of summer before fall’s purposefulness sets in. To see all the August Break entries so far, click here.
In other news, the lovely ladies at Strawberry Fields Whatever asked me what my favorite Beatles song is.
